The receptionist at the time of check-in was not welcoming whatsoever and did not explain anything about the hotel/breakfast/dinner etc.

Visit the beach Sozopol has two beaches within the town. However, I would recommend visiting either of the neighboring ones- Kavatsi/ Smokinya or Gradina. Even if you do not have a car, you can easily reach them by taxi.
